Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Penny Metrics ("we", "us") handles information when you use our website and analytics service (the "Service"). We built Penny Metrics to be privacy-friendly by design, so we collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

We distinguish between two kinds of data:

  • Account data — the email address and authentication details you provide when you create an account, plus billing information processed by our payment provider.
  • Analytics data — aggregated, anonymous statistics about visits to the websites you track with the Service.

How analytics data is collected

The Penny Metrics tracking script is cookie-free and stores no persistent identifiers on a visitor's device. We do not build personal profiles or track visitors across websites.

  • Visitors are counted using a hash derived from a daily-rotating salt, the website, the IP address, and the user agent. Raw IP addresses are never stored.
  • Because the salt rotates every day, visitors cannot be re-identified across days and the hash cannot be reversed.
  • We retain only aggregate metrics such as pageviews, referrers, countries, devices, and custom events you choose to send.

How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To respond to support requests and send essential service notices.

We never sell your data or the analytics data collected on your behalf.

Sharing with third parties

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the Service — for example, payment processing and infrastructure hosting. These providers are bound to use the data only to perform services for us.

Data retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time. Aggregated analytics data is retained so you can view historical trends, and contains no personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service.
